Casillero del Diablo

Concha y Toro is one of the world’s largest wine estates. Founded over 130 years ago, the company owns 10,750 hectares of vineyards in Chile, Argentina and the USA. If you’ve been on the market for that length of time you don’t just have outstanding wine: you also have a consistent brand. Winemaker Marcelo Papa has been working for the company for more than ten years and is responsible for the vinification of its most important label: Casillero del Diablo. A legend has been intertwined with these wines ever since the company was founded. The founder Don Melchior set some of the best wines aside for his own use. To keep others away from these select wines he spread a rumour that the devil was in the vaults where he kept them. Today, Casillero del Diablo is the flagship product for the world-famous wine producer Concha y Toro and is successful in over 130 countries.
