Regal elegance
Like all things of beauty, Fontanafredda was the result of a love story: The first king of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele II (1858) bought the vineyard for his future wife. Today, Fontanafredda (“cold fountain”) owns 100 hectares for wine growing in the best sites in Piedmont in the beautiful Serralunga d’Alba, the Barolo wine-growing region. Fontanafredda uses all its resources to make its classical, powerful and velvety red wines, particularly the Barolo. Elegant wines with mature tannins and a fruity structure that are full of finesse and suffused with the Fontanafredda tradition.
